Maiko is a beautiful Golden Retriever with the kind of temperament people hope to find in a companion: calm, gentle, affectionate and easy to love.
He was originally rescued after being abandoned and has since experienced being surrendered more than once. Despite that instability, Maiko remains incredibly loving and continues to trust people.
He isn’t a tiny puppy anymore, but at almost three, he is still a young adult with so much life ahead of him. His calm nature makes him a lovely match for someone looking beyond the puppy stage for a dog who can settle into everyday family life.
Maiko wants what so many Goldens do: to be close to his people, receive affection, and finally feel that he belongs.
Maiko needs permanence now. Someone who sees his gentle nature and understands that an adult dog is not second best — he is already himself, ready to love, and waiting for someone to choose him for good.
