Meet FLORA

She got her wish.

Flora came to us after surviving a gunshot that cost her one of her front legs. But losing a leg never seemed to change the way Flora approached life—with enormous affection, determination, and an almost immediate love for people.

More than anything, Flora adored children.

And now, she has a family of her own.

Flora has officially been adopted into a beautiful home with children, and to say they are in love with one another would be an understatement. She finally has the busy, loving family life we always hoped she would find.

But her story doesn’t end with adoption.

Flora will also begin training to become a service dog, with the potential to support veterans and people living with illness, disability, and autism. A dog who once needed people to fight for her may someday spend her life helping people through some of their hardest moments.

There is something especially beautiful about that.

Flora arrived as a survivor.

She leaves us as somebody’s beloved family member—with children to adore, a home of her own, and a remarkable new purpose ahead.

Adopted. Adored. And just getting started.
