Meet BARKLEY

ADOPTED.

3,933 days.

That's how long Barkley waited.

Nearly 11 years of waking up in a shelter.

Nearly 11 years of watching other dogs leave while he stayed behind. Nearly 11 years of wondering if anyone would ever choose him.

Today... Someone did.

Barkley is finally going home.

No more kennel walls.

No more waiting.

No more being overlooked.

Instead, there will be a family waiting at the door, a bed with his name on it, walks through the neighbourhood, toys scattered across the floor, and all the love he's been dreaming about for almost twelve years.

To every person who shared his story...

To everyone who commented, followed, donated, or believed that this sweet golden soul deserved a chance...

Thank you.

You helped rewrite the ending.

A special thank you to everyone who joined our "Balls for Barkley" campaign. Hundreds of tennis balls were donated by this incredible community to celebrate the dog who never stopped believing that one day, someone would throw the next ball just for him.

In August, our Director of Sanctuary Operations, Nikki, will travel to Lebanon to personally escort Barkley, along with two other long-term shelter dogs, on their journey from war to safety and into their forever homes in Canada.

We'll be sharing his homecoming when he arrives.

Happy retirement, sweet Barkley.

The longest wait is finally over.

Welcome home. ❤️
