Meet ANGEL
Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Angel wears hers all over everyone she meets.
Affectionately known as Blind Angel or our beloved Potato Dumpling, Angel has never met a cuddle she didn't think should last longer. She is equal parts gentle soul and determined snuggle bug—specializing in enthusiastic hugs, surprise kisses, and what we lovingly call aggressive cuddles. Despite her size, Angel is convinced she's a lap dog, happiest when she's pressed against the people she loves.
Angel's story began with heartbreak. Used for breeding by a backyard breeder, she was eventually discarded without ever being spayed. Alone and vulnerable, she wandered until she was attacked by wild animals before being rescued by an incredible local rescue organization. Years of untreated medical neglect had taken a devastating toll. Chronic ear infections were left untreated for so long that her ears became permanently swollen, and the infection ultimately cost her her eyesight. By the time Angel arrived at New Leash On Love Sanctuary, she was overweight, inflamed, uncomfortable, and in desperate need of compassionate medical care.
Yet Angel never let her past define her. She greets each day with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and an endless supply of love. Blindness doesn't slow her down—it simply means she follows voices, scents, and gentle hands instead of her eyes. Her trust is extraordinary, and her capacity to forgive is even greater.
Angel has found her forever home at New Leash On Love Sanctuary, where she will never again know abandonment, pain, or loneliness. Here she is cherished exactly as she is—a treasured member of the pack whose days are filled with soft beds, patient friends, belly rubs, and all the cuddles her heart desires.

Angel reminds us every day that sight isn't what allows us to see love. Sometimes the dogs who have endured the greatest darkness are the ones who shine the brightest.
